GQ Font magazine initially asked for Gotham typeface as they were looking for a modern sans-serif sans geometric design that was “masculine fresh, contemporary and modern” to be included in their journal. Jonathan Hoefler gave the GQ magazine a criterion according to which they needed something that “looked extremely fresh while well established and could add credibility,” in their magazine.
